This is the picture from this week’s monthly letter to our waiting daughter.
This having your kid across the world stuff is tough, strange, and trying.
It’s difficult to write these letters and to know what to say and how, to a young girl that you don’t know, really, but have tucked into your heart and head as your new daughter.
It’s odd. But cool too. So this is the pic from this month’s letter, out on Monday: her new mom (me) and her two new little sisters. We hope she likes it and that it makes her day like her letters make ours.
On another note, please pray today for court, for successful passing for five families who got the great surprise of their court dates being moved up again, after they had been cancelled and rescheduled into next month. What great news! Tomorrow is the big day {which in real time means tonight, once you factor in time diffs}: their new court date and I know they’d appreciate your prayers for a pass. They too are more than ready to go get their waiting kidletts. Go, see: the Clevingers, Sarah and Davis, Laura B, the Ivy’s, and the T.McG family (who doesn’t have a blog, but would still surely appreciate the prayers). The court dates are always nerve wracking, but we will pray for good news and peace. High hopes…

So, this week, as you know, BuddyBug is home for fall break.
And we are all enjoying, relishing, the visit, of course.
I realized, again, yesterday that when he’s back there is just a lot of extra laughter and music through the house.{And we made a pact to only where our college logo clothes! ok, kidding}
And I love this. And I think it’s because we all get a glimpse of what’s important again:
being a Whole, present, family.
All together now.
And so we each find, in our own way, the time and way to mark these few days:
banging out songs, embarrassing ourselves on the tennis court, cooking, praying, laughing, jumping……(yes, even sending forth to Publix).
Even the smallest among us finds his own way to enjoy this time….just try to pry him loose!

So, I’m late. That pretty much sums up my week.I’ve been behind since about 5 a.m. Monday morning. And you can see that this isn’t a wordless Wednesday at all, but hey, it’s Thursday now so I can yak for a moment, eh? It’s been a crazy hormonal week.
So I think this photo sums it up: what I should be doing. Not meditating, better: praying. More. Better. I’ve been distracted and harried and so my prayers are lacking. Thus, I’ve been caving to hormones and stress. ugh. So. More prayer. Maybe some time painting if I can carve out a few minutes or more. That always helps. My kids are much better at having fun, of course!
On another note, we are giddy and rejoicing for all the referrals and court passes for the Gladney families!! It’s been a flurry of fabulous news this week. So, despite my crazy week, once again we see, God is so good, all the time.
